Senior Programmer and Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ongoing development of online video game delivery system
- Serves as main point of contact on all development-related matters for senior management
- Create and manage project plans from cradle to grave
- Manage and delegate effectively to a growing team of developers
- Mentor and motivate junior staff members
- Identify opportunity for continuous improvement in IT operations and implement appropriate measures
- Gather and document requirements
- Conduct regular employee reviews
- Identify and ensure adherence to best practices
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of the company's web portal and supporting infrastructure
- Oversee source code control and electronic asset management
- Liaise with subject matter experts
- Evaluate software products and recommend appropriate purchases
- Other projects/duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of C#
- Object Orientated Programming skills, including use of design patterns
- Fundamental network knowledge with experience using TCP/IP and UDP protocols a plus
- Knowledge of web architecture, HTML and Cascading Style Sheets
- ASP.NET experience a definite asset
- Experience with data base design and architecture
- Knowledge of PHP/MySQL, XML and Linux
- Experience with Adobe Flash and Action Script 3, JavaScript, Unity3D a plus
- Forward thinking and creative
- Ability to plan, establish priorities to meet appropriate deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with excellent organization skills
- Great attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Credentials and Experience:
- 7+ years of proven experience in a programming role
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Junior Programmer
Algoma Games for Health is a serious game development studio focusing on the application of video games to the health and rehabilitation industries. We are currently developing products to assist people in need of speech therapy, including games for individuals looking to recover language skills after having suffered a stroke.
We are looking for a talented individual to join the team and contribute to the development of a versatile web application that includes online rehabilitation games, real time video and audio conferencing, and reporting tools. Your work will have a direct impact on making speech therapy accessible, engaging and effective for those in need.

- Remain current on new tools to help build our applications
- Debugging and optimization of software
